Imagine you are a photographer, and you have to choose someone to photograph your own wedding?

That was tough – but we found someone great and we loved our photos! However, little did everyone in our wedding party know, this is something I had laid out in my head and on paper for many months. After some great individual and group photos inside and out, we were outside during the last portion of our wedding party shots. Our photographer looked at me and said “I think we have enough” and the entire wedding party in the mid-July day agreed and promptly headed for the reception! I was left a bit (a lot) sad, because we had an amazing venue (which we paid for) and we had only covered about one fourth of the places I wanted pictures! Who was I (the Bride?!) to say – “hold up, people, there’s about 10 other places we need to walk around to on these grounds of this mansion in your heels and tuxes in 78 degrees?!?!” hahaha! Oh – and they didn’t even have the term “Bridezilla” back then, but, someone would have coined it that day if I had even suggested it!  Fast forward to present day and we had 2 (yes, two) of our children get married this year! One was planned for 2021 after a mid-December 2019 pre-pandemic engagement, and the other had been postponed twice from 2020, and they landed just 3 months apart!

We had amazing photographers for both weddings! The planning, the shot list, the detail, the comfort level and friendships built, nothing short of amazing! “We’ve come a long way, baby”, in the expectations of photography for weddings and any event! The sheer number of photos you end up with, along with the ability to have a “sneek peek” within hours or days! I remember I didn’t even see my wedding photos until I was sitting in the studio, they handed me our wedding album and said take it as is, no extra charge, but it will be “$25.00” for each photo you want changed, oh and here’s a beautiful wall portrait that we will throw in for $xx.xx, (whatever the amount was). I was overwhelmed and didn’t know what or how I was supposed to get more photos. The only way I ever got my proofs or negatives was when sadly, the studio closed.

The planning, the shot list, the detail, the comfort level and friendships built, nothing short of amazing!

Ever since then it has been my goal to take the mystery and fear out of serving a client, family or friend when taking their photos. Hopefully, no question is left unanswered and my goal is you understand how your session or event will be approached, you are comfortable and have fun and we will guide you through the process – we aren’t just going to give you an online gallery and wish you well!

We will decide together on a location, we will discuss what you will wear, hair and makeup needs, how long it will take, flexibility with the weather, etc. Once your session is completed, we will share your gallery when it is complete and meet again to view and plan what images you hope to hang on your walls, place in an heirloom album and share on social media!

I’m passionate about photography, I’ve been carrying a camera around for quite some time now, and my goal is to pass on just a little bit (hopefully a lot!) of the thrill when you see your amazing smile and those of your loved ones or colleagues that I got to see through my lens!
